FAQ

Answers to common questions from defense procurement officers, public safety agencies, and industrial operators.

Platforms & products
What is the RMUS Raven and what does it do?
The RMUS Raven is a tactical outdoor drone powered by RMUS GO-TO AI Technology. It comes in four versions based on where it operates within the jamming spectrum: ISR (multi-flight battlefield intel), Short Range Targeting (400m jamming range), Long Range Targeting (1km jamming range), and Ultra Long Range (up to 20km fiber optic, fully jam-proof). All versions are ATAK-compatible and feature onboard AI processing.
What is the ARMUS and who is it for?
The ARMUS is a compact AI-powered indoor drone designed for GPS-denied environments. It is used by SWAT teams, first responders, law enforcement, and industrial operators for building reconnaissance, confined space inspection, and tactical indoor operations. It features a low-light camera, turtle mode, radio optimized for indoor use, and onboard object recognition — all without subscription fees. NDAA-compliant options are available.
What is the ARMUS pricing?
The ARMUS initial purchase is $4,000 — includes one drone and the controller. Additional drones are $1,600 each (no controller required; additional drones rebind to the existing controller). Every purchase includes complimentary access to RMUS Hub and RMUS Zone for training and operational support. Contact us for volume pricing and agency rates.
What are the fiber optic systems and why do they matter?
Fiber optic systems eliminate RF jamming entirely. Once a Raven Ultra Long Range is airborne on fiber, it cannot be affected by any jamming or GPS spoofing. We offer two spools: a Training 5KM spool (714g, 1.01dB attenuation) and an Operational 20KM spool (1,814g, 5.42dB attenuation). Both support communication distances of 20–60km and use FC optic interfaces.
Are your platforms NDAA compliant?
NDAA-compliant options are available for both the RMUS Raven and ARMUS platforms through the RMUS "Be Part of the Solution" partner program. Our platforms are not manufactured in China — GO-TO AI electronics are produced in Kraków, Poland and assembled in Canada. Contact us to discuss specific compliance requirements for your procurement vehicle.
Procurement & ordering
What is the procurement process for government agencies?
We work directly with defense procurement offices, public safety agencies, and DND. We support PSPC procurement vehicles and can provide specification sheets, demo units for evaluation, and sole-source justification support. Contact us to begin the process and we will guide you through the appropriate procurement pathway for your organization.
What are typical lead times after ordering?
Lead times vary by platform configuration and order volume. Because we assemble in Canada, we can often fulfill orders faster than importing fully built systems from overseas. Contact us for current availability and delivery timelines specific to your requirements.
Do you offer demonstrations or field trials?
Yes. We offer field demonstrations for qualified defense, law enforcement, and public safety clients. Demonstrations can be arranged in your operational environment — indoor, outdoor, or remote. Contact us to discuss availability and logistics. We can bring the platform to you.
Can I access technical documentation before purchasing?
Yes. Our document portal provides access to full technical specification sheets, the RAVEN Military Deck, and the ARMUS product overview. Request an access code by contacting us at inquiries@uncrewedsystems.com.
Regulatory & compliance
What Transport Canada licensing is required for outdoor platforms?
For outdoor platforms like the Raven, an Advanced Operations RPAS pilot certificate is required under Transport Canada regulations. For operations beyond standard VLOS or over controlled airspace, a Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) may also be required. We provide full regulatory guidance and training support throughout the certification process.
Is the ARMUS legal to fly indoors without a drone licence?
Yes. Transport Canada's RPAS regulations apply to outdoor operations only. The ARMUS is designed specifically for indoor, GPS-denied environments and is not subject to outdoor RPAS pilot certification requirements under current Canadian regulations.
Can you integrate with existing command and control systems?
Yes. The RMUS GO-TO AI platform integrates with ATAK, DroneSense, Airdata, and SkyeBrowse. Our partner Unmanned Systems Poland's U-Core GCS is NATO STANAG 4586 compliant, enabling interoperability with most allied command and control systems including UAV, USV, UUV, and UGV platforms.
Can platforms operate in arctic and northern Canadian conditions?
Yes — Canadian-environment adaptation is the core mandate of our R&D program. We test and configure platforms for cold-weather operations, low-visibility conditions including arctic white-out, and the specific challenges of northern, subarctic, and remote Canadian terrain. This is active development work ongoing at our Kitchener facility.
Counter-UAS
What counter-drone capabilities are legal in Canada?
Detection and identification are unrestricted. Signal jamming and GPS spoofing are prohibited in Canada except by authorized federal agencies under the Radiocommunication Act and the Aeronautics Act. We are one of the few Canadian firms with deep practical expertise in the legal authorization pathways — we advise clients on what is legal, what requires federal authorization, and how to obtain it.
Can you conduct a threat assessment for our facility?
Yes. We conduct site vulnerability studies, airspace risk analysis, and produce tailored C-UAS architecture reports for any facility type — critical infrastructure, correctional facilities, events venues, airports, and military installations. Contact us to request a confidential counter-UAS threat assessment.
Do you provide ongoing support after C-UAS system installation?
Yes. We offer operator training, system maintenance, software updates, and ongoing regulatory advisory as Canada's C-UAS framework evolves. We treat every C-UAS engagement as a long-term relationship, not a one-time sale.
Training
What training is included with every platform purchase?
Every ARMUS and Raven purchase includes complimentary access to RMUS Hub (120+ hours of on-demand immersive virtual training) and RMUS Zone (collaborative operator community for use case sharing and technical support). Additional in-person field training is available and strongly recommended for tactical applications.
Can training be delivered on-site at our facility?
Yes. We deliver all training programs on-site at your facility or operational environment. For northern and remote locations, we work with your team to arrange logistics and adapt exercises to your actual terrain conditions. Contact us to discuss availability and scheduling.
Is ARMUS legal to fly indoors without Transport Canada certification?
Yes. Transport Canada's RPAS regulations apply to outdoor operations. The ARMUS is designed specifically for indoor, GPS-denied environments and is not subject to outdoor RPAS pilot certification requirements.
